Gandhinagar-Mumbai upgraded Vande Bharat train is signalled off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Friday saw the launch of thesemi-high-speed Vande Bharat Expressbetween Gandhinagar and Mumbai.
Around 10.30 am, Modi, signalled the departure of the train from Gandhinagar Capital Railway Station.
Then he boarded the train for the journey from Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad’s Kalupur railway station.
The third Vande Bharat Express in the nation runs between the capitals of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
According to an official, the first of these trains operated between New Delhi and Varanasi, and the second ran between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
According to him, the train would provide passengers a travelling experience similar to that of an aircraft as well as cutting-edge safety measures including Kavach technology, an independently created Train Collision Avoidance System.
Beginning on October 1, the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Superfast Express will operate for commercial purposes.
With the exception of Sundays, it will be running six days a week.At 6.10 am, the train will leave Mumbai Central and arrive in Gandhinagar at 12.30 pm.
The train will leave Gandhinagar at 2.05 pm and arrive in Mumbai Central at 8.35 pm for the return trip.In both directions, it will stop at the stations in Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad.
Executive chair cars will cost Rs 2,505 to travel from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, while chair cars would cost Rs 1,385.
In order to make room for Vande Bharat Express, the railways rearranged the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express.
Vande Bharat Express is a 16-coach, semi-high-speed, self-propelled train set that was designed in India. The train for enhanced passenger comfort 3.5 rating index and accelerates to 160 kmph in under 140 seconds
Every coach is equipped with a passenger information and entertainment system, according to the official.
The seats in the executive class are rotating and equipped with automated plug doors with sliding steps and touch-free sliding doors inside coaches.
This is the first train with bio-vacuum toilets that resemble aeroplanes and touch-free amenities. It also offers a dedicated restroom for passengers with special needs. To help visually impaired passengers, seat numbers are written in Braille on the handles of the seats.
The train has a safety system called Kavach (train collision avoidance system). There are emergency talk-back systems on the coaches. The electrical equipment on board the train is better floodproof and can resist floods up to a 650 mm height.
